Does everything online look oddly familiar lately? You are definitely not imagining it.

A recent Guardian study found that over 20% of videos shown to new YouTube users are generated by AI. These machine built videos are optimized for views and designed to keep you scrolling.

This trend is now known as "AI slop", refers to fast, low quality, and often meaningless content generated by AI. And it's spreading faster than most of us realize.

But this isn't just a YouTube issue. Across social platforms, digital content is increasingly generated by algorithms; videos, artwork, images, music and more. Some channels run entirely without human creators.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently called for a shift in how we think about AI, suggesting we focus less on the quality debate and more on its potential to amplify human creativity. Still, he acknowledged this shift will be messy, and only earns public trust when it delivers real value.

If everything looks polished but nothing feels real, where do we go from here?

A story can resonate. A sketch can reveal truth. A voice that feels human, a friendly smile that connects us. These are things a bot can't replicate, and they are what give life real meaning.

Let's face it, AI isn't going anywhere. But we still choose what we share, who we engage with, and how we create.

Because at the end of the day, people don't remember what got the most clicks. We remember what felt real.

Explore our analog tools designed for human hands — and rediscover the joy of making something real.
