Inspired by the simple, powerful belief “I can do it too,” Cantoo City® was founded in 2022 in Mississauga, Ontario by Sherry Gu.
We emerged during a global shift, a time when art evolved from a hobby into a pathway to wellness. In a time the world paused, we saw a collective need to slow down, recharge, and reclaim mental clarity. Yet, we recognized that bulky, complex, and expensive supplies often created barriers to starting. Cantoo City was created to remove those barriers, making art an accessible, joyful, and restorative part of everyday life.
Gear for the Modern Lifestyle
We design essential, compact tools and studio accessories tailored for those on the move. Whether you are a student, educator, hobbyist, or an everyday dreamer, our gear is built to move with you, easy to carry and always ready when inspiration strikes.
The Doodle Square™
In 2025, we launched Doodle Square to spark creativity in the spaces where life take places. This hybrid experience lives through our online community on Pinterest, Instagram and our website, and breathes through physical pop-ups in cafés, co-working hubs, conferences and wellness venues. With bite-sized creative games designed to fit into a busy schedule, it’s a reminder that art doesn’t need to be complicated to be profound, it just needs to be accessible, fun, and shared.
"Creativity should be effortless and enjoyable. Art isn’t just about the final piece; it’s about finding connection, expressing yourself, and protecting your peace of mind through the process." — Sherry Gu, Founder & CEO
Art for Wellness
Most art brands are built for professional artists. We are built for everyday wellness. At Cantoo City®, we serve the dreamers who have always wanted to create but never felt it was "meant" for them. We believe picking up a pen, a sketchbook, or a marker is more than a creative act; it is a wellness habit. Just like meditation or movement, it is a practice that slows the mind, reconnects you to your intuition, and protects the essential parts of ourselves that a busy life can quietly erode.
When you make space to slow down, you are not just making art, you are making room for growth.
Creativity is a Human Value.
